CQRlog

CQRLOG is an advanced ham radio logger based on MySQL database. Provides radio control based on hamlib libraries (currently support of 140+ radio types and models), DX cluster connection, online callbook, a grayliner, internal QSL manager database support and a most accurate country resolution algorithm based on country tables developed by OK1RR. CQRLOG is intended for daily general logging of HF, CW & SSB contacts and strongly focused to easy operation and maintenance.

Preferences

There a lot of settings. You can get to the Preferences:

  • File >> Preferences
  • Ctrl-P

Some settings need some study. Below the setting for connecting to the rig, external sites and other programs.

TRX rig control

Rigctld is a Hamlib rig control daemon that handles client requests via TCP sockets. This allows multiple user programs to share one radio. Multiple radios can be controlled on different TCP ports by use of multiple rigctld processes. The syntax of the commands are the same as rigctl.

Rigctld makes it possible to exchange data with programs as Fldigi.

Default serial speed on the FT-991A is 4800bps. Set menu 031 CAT RATE to 38400bps for maximum serial speed.
(there is no real benefit to set a higher speed, so you can leave the speed to the default 4800bps)

The log can be uploaded to these three log-sites.

LoTW and eSQL

Upload to LoTW and eSQL must be done manually.

On the main log-window there are buttons to up- and download logs to these sites.

Reading data from Fldigi

Fldigi is a digital modes program.
Option is to Run Fldigi after entering remote mode.

Remote mode gets log info from Fldigi:

  • File >> Remote mode for Fldigi
  • CTL+M

This option doesn't work stable at the moment... It looks like there is a sort of timing problem between the to programs. CQRlog should release the rigctld connection, but it doesn't...
